OPERA COLORADO COMMISSIONS PATRON RESEARCH TO SUPPORT SPONSORSHIP REVENUE
ARTS ORGANIZATION TO PURSUE NEW CORPORATE PARTNERSHIPS

Denver, CO – Opera Colorado has commissioned Rojo Research to perform a study on its patron demographics in effort to increase sponsorship revenue.

Rojo Research will capture data on patron demographics, purchasing plans, shopping behavior, and event experience; and such data is leveraged to support a corporate sponsorship revenue initiative.

"Creating a detailed message for corporate prospects that shows them the possibilities of a sponsor relationship with actual dollars and benefit details will provide us a real edge as we continue our efforts to build support. It is absolutely critical that we emphasize the marketing impact of sponsorship for today's corporations, especially in the current economy, and the data Rojo Research provides will give us the tools we need to do just that," states Lori Siegling, Opera Colorado's Director of Development.

"Opera Colorado is one of the most respected performing arts organizations in the West, and we are delighted to support the company in achieving its sponsorship revenue initiatives in the face of a challenging economy," states John Herron, CEO of Rojo Research.

"Opera Colorado will be a pioneer by successfully leveraging their robust and highly desirable audience to several regional and local marketers. The costs of producing opera at such a high level of artistic quality continue to grow, while government contributions and corporate gifts have dwindled. Opera Colorado has taken a bold and aggressive strategy to enhance their corporate sponsorship revenue streams in order to continue expanding the company's artistic capacity."

Opera Colorado is based in Denver, Colorado. Since its inception in 1983, Opera Colorado has been committed to presenting the highest quality live performances of opera in their original languages. The 2008-2009 season has included sold out runs of Puccini's Madama Butterfly and Bizet's The Pearl Fishers, and will conclude later this spring with Mozart's Cosi Fan Tutte.

Rojo Research specializes in performance arts audience research to assist organizations to increase sponsorship revenues. Other partners include Oregon Ballet Theatre, Portland Opera, BYDE Youth Dance Ensemble, and The Sacramento Theatre Company.
