TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY KINGSVILLE COMMISSIONS FAN RESEARCH

KINGSVILLE, TX – Texas A&M University Kingsville has partnered with Rojo Research to perform a fan consumer behavior study to expand its corporate sponsorship revenue opportunities.

Founded in 1925 as South Texas State Teachers College, later became Texas A&I (Arts & Industry) University. The university’s current name was adopted in 1993 as a member of the Texas A&M system. Texas A&M University Kingsville offers 56 undergraduate degree programs, 61 master’s programs, and six doctoral degrees. The student body of over 6,600 is more than 60% Hispanic ethnicity.

Texas A&M University Kingsville has been identified by The Center of Urban Education at the University of Southern California as a top 25 Hispanic Serving Institution. The university consistently ranks among the country’s top 10 producers of Hispanic engineers, and offers the only accredited program in natural gas engineering in the United States.

The Javelinas are a member of the NCAA Division II Lone Star Conference and offers 11 men's and women's programs.

Texas A&M University Kingsville noted alumni include Bill Stevens, retired CEO Exxon USA; Gene Upshaw, NFL Hall of Fame player and former Executive Director National Football League Players Association; singer Laura Canales, known as the “Queen of Tejano”; John Laurer, former CEO B.F. Goodrich; and Emmy Award nominated actress Eva Longoria.

The Javelinas are fourth Lone Star Conference member to partner with Rojo joining Abilene Christian, West Texas A&M, and the University of Central Oklahoma. Other Texas schools Rojo has supported include Texas Tech, Lamar, and the University of Texas-San Antonio.

Launched in September 2006, Rojo Research has quickly risen to one of the largest providers of audience research for NCAA member institutions and professional sports organizations with over 80 partners throughout the U.S and Canada.
