Mankato, MN – The Minnesota State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has selected Rojo Research to perform a study on fan demographics. Rojo Research will capture data on fan demographics, purchasing plans, shopping behavior and event experience; with such data leveraged to provide a return on investment for corporate sponsors.

Minnesota State fields 21 NCAA Division II teams and will become members of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) effective July 1; while it’s two Division I hockey programs are members of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA). The school has also served as the summer training camp host of the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings for over 40 years, and will also play host to the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves for a week of practices on their campus this fall.

Established in 1868, the institution has an enrollment of about 14,000 students and more than 500 international students from 62 counties. Minnesota State was the first public college in the United States to be headed by a woman, suffragette Julia Sears in 1872.The University offers nearly 160 undergraduate degrees and 80 graduate programs.

Noted alumni include ESPN/ABC Sportscaster Brad Nessler, Glen Taylor, owner of the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves, current NHL players Ryan Carter, Steve Wagner, David Backes, & Tim Jackman; Cedric Yarborough, actor on Reno 911, and Adrienne Armstrong, wife of Green Day frontman and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong.

Minnesota State joins Northwest Missouri State University as the second NCAA Division II institution to retain Rojo Research to perform a fan demographics survey.
