FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: September 4, 2009

Modesto, CA – The Modesto Nuts' final regular season attendance reached 167,722, breaking last year's record of 164,306.

The attendance record was achieved despite of the loss of a sell-out crowd with an opening night rainout. The Nuts were able to surpass last year’s record with 69 home dates instead of 70. Minor league attendance figures are based on the number of tickets sold.

In 2009, the Nuts enjoyed the three highest single-game attendance marks in franchise history, first on May 9 with 5,083, then again for an Independence Day fireworks promotion of 5,424. The latest was August 28, as the Nuts received a boost when the Texas Rangers promoted local area baseball hero Tommy Mendonca, Fresno State’s 2008 College World Series star, to the visiting Bakersfield Blaze roster. Mendonca’s fans help push attendance to 5,292.

Furthermore, the Nuts earned a California League playoff spot. Rojo Research congratulates the Modesto Nuts for their tremendous accomplishments, and wishes the organization well in the playoffs.
